What We Stand On
Four Pillars of the Heller Foundation
Grounded in the Foundation’s post-Heller mission and “no-compromise” defense of the individual Second Amendment right, our work consolidates into four core pillars.
01 · Lawsuits
Legal Action
Aggressive litigation to challenge and overturn unconstitutional restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms. This remains the Foundation’s primary battlefield—building directly on the landmark District of Columbia v. Heller victory and subsequent cases. Efforts focus on handgun bans, magazine limits, “ghost gun” rules, National Firearms Act restrictions, and similar state and local infringements, with the goal of securing, restoring, and expanding the individual right in the courts.
02 · Knowledge
Education & Scholarship
Teaching the historical and constitutional meaning of the Second Amendment as an individual right of able-bodied, sound-minded citizens. This pillar encompasses basic Second Amendment education, public materials, amicus briefs, and long-term scholarship that develops future lawyers, researchers, and advocates. It sustains the intellectual foundation that made Heller possible and ensures the next generation understands and can defend the right.
03 · Engagement
Outreach
Spreading the no-compromise message through public engagement, partnerships, events, speeches, and direct communication with citizens. Outreach amplifies legal victories and educational content so more Americans know, value, and exercise their rights, while building broader cultural and community support for Second Amendment defense.

Gun Training
Practical firearms training that turns the constitutional right into real-world capability. This pillar equips law-abiding citizens with the skills, safety knowledge, and confidence needed for effective armed self-defense, ensuring the right is not merely theoretical but usable and responsibly exercised.
